EG Primary Schools RaceDay

Our aim is to make the schools cross country races about the athletes, celebrating their achievements and ensuring they enjoy themselves. To help us do this, we hope the following information will be of use.

  • THERE ARE PUBLIC TOILETS LOCATED IN THE TOILET BLOCK IN THE TOP CAR PARK
  • There are NO toilets available in the Pavilion.
  • There is an area set aside for each school indicated by posts with the different school names on. This is you allocated area and your team should be based here.
  • Each athlete will be allocated a number that must be pinned to the FRONT of their team shirt.
  • There will be a presentation for the athletes finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Year 4 girls and Year 4 boys after the Year 4 boys race has finished.
  • There will be a presentation for the athletes finishing in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th for Year 5/6 girls and Year 5/6 boys after the Year 5/6 boys race has finished.
  • There will be a team presentation for the Year 5/6 girls and Year 5/6 boys races. This is calculated on the first FOUR athletes in the respective races. In the event of a tie, the result will be determined by the 5th placed runner of the teams tied.
  • First Aid is available from St Johns Ambulance who will be based near the pavilion.
  • Please ensure that you bring pens to write down the positions of the athletes to submit for the results.

Team Managers

  • Team Managers are responsible for ensuring athletes have their numbers attached and ticking each athlete off on the team sheet. Any athlete not attending should have a line placed through their name.
  • Team Managers should ensure athletes are familiarised with the course and that athletes are warmed up and stretched before the race and be at the start area 10 minutes before the start of the race.
  • Athletes will be given a numbered disc as they finish the race. Team Managers must record each athletes disc number on the team sheet.
  • If an athlete did not complete the race, please mark them as DNF
  • Team Managers must place ALL DISCS in the envelope and hand the envelope to a marshal in a PINK HI VIS VEST or the results team outside the Pavilion after each race.
  • It is important Team Managers do this promptly after each race to allow us to process the results.
  • Please ensure that you bring pens to write down the positions of the athletes to submit for the results.
