Role – Team Manager

What does a team manager do?

The manager(s) will be expected to ensure all U13 athletes are informed of when league matches are taking place, which events they will be doing (the coaches will be able to help you with selecting the athletes for the events) and communicating with the athletes parents (email / WhatsApp) prior to matches. Ideally, you will be at the track to catch up with athletes and parents from time to time.

On the day of the match, you will be the point of contact for the match organiser if they have any queries for the club, updating the organiser if athletes change events and reminding athletes of their events in good time.

What help is available?

A number of other club members will normally be around on the day for advice and outside of this, feel free to speak to Eddie, Club Secretary, who will be able to advise or find the right person for you.

Requirements

  • Age over 18 years old
  • Have completed a DBS check (the club will help organise this for you)
  • Have completed the online UKA safeguarding course (the club will help you access this)
  • Are aware of the club’s safeguarding policy
  • Agree to the volunteer code of conduct
