The entire Club is run by volunteers, ranging from coaches, assistants, officials, team managers to administrators. Getting involved and giving back to our community can be very rewarding and how much time you give is up to you. Whether you’d like to use your existing skills or develop new ones, there’s always a role for you here in the Club.
If you don’t have much time, that doesn’t matter – every little helps and gratefully received. If everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot! Even if it’s a small helping hand now and again, that would be appreciated and will help make sure we can all continue to support and promote opportunities in athletics.
There are plenty of tasks and roles that can be done ad hoc, and role sharing is fine as it lightens the load.
No matter where your strengths lie, there is always something you can do and there’s always someone around to guide you in an unfamiliar role. Volunteering benefits you, the athletes and the Club.
If you’ve never been involved in athletics before, there’s no barriers to helping and nothing stopping you getting involved in coaching or officiating. There’s plenty of support to help you enjoy and contribute to athletics, and perhaps begin your coaching journey and the Club will support you every step of the way.
If you’d like to get involved and help out in any way, please just talk to us or email the Club Secretary and we’ll help you find a role that you enjoy that contributes positively to the Club and our community.
