A fantastic day for our athletes at K2 on Saturday. In the shot put, Aidan Gallagher picked up a silver medal along with Grace Bleach. Grace lost out on the gold with the final throw of the competition by about 5cm. Aidan then went on to get another silver in the discus.
Rowan Kirby had a fantastic day picking up silver medals in the long jump and 150m where he missed out on gold by a 1000 of a second. He then picked up a bronze in the 800m. Phoenix Alderson won silver in the high jump in her first year as an U13 and Nate Hope won bronze in the high jump. Then the boys had a fantastic run in the 4x100m relay. Aidan Gallagher was a late replacement and got the team off to a great start. Nate Hope ran a great second leg handing to Rowan Kirby storming round the bend and handing to George Brewer who just held off a late Crawley charge with a well timed dip finish. It looked like a well deserved bronze for the team but Horsham were disqualified which meant silver for the team. Rowan picked up his 4th medal of the day and Aidan his 3rd with Nate on two.
The whole group of U13s we have are a real credit to the club.
