Entry Rules
- The East Grinstead primary schools cross country races are open to local schools in East Grinstead and surrounding areas. Where children in the eligible age groups are not at local schools (for example are home schooled), or those at schools that have chosen not to enter, provision will be made to support them to compete.
- There will be four races;
- (i) boys in school year 4
- (ii) girls in school year 4
- (iii) boys in school year 5 and 6
- (iv) girls in school year 5 and 6
- Race entry is £3 per athlete. Schools are required to submit athlete details through the online entries form and an invoice will be sent to schools based on the number of athletes entered when entries close. Any late entries will be charged £5 per athlete and invoices will be sent to schools.
- The Race Director is responsible for the races and their decision is final.
- The team races are based on the results of the first four athletes of each school. In the event of a tie, the result of the 5th placed athlete in a team will be used.
- Schools are welcome to enter as many eligible athletes as they wish.
- Only athletes in the age groups listed are eligible to race.
Travel / Parking
For the safety of all those taking part, volunteering and supporting, no traffic is permitted to enter the main park for the afternoon. East Court has very limited parking and we would ask that all schools encourage athletes and supporters to walk or take public transport where possible. Details on parking across Midsussex is available on this link https://www.midsussex.gov.uk/parking-travel/parking/.
Data Processing
The results are only shared with ActiveSussex were a number of athletes attending state schools may be invited to compete at a regional competition. We will announce the provided names of athletes that secure a medal / trophy position at the presentation ceremonies. Athletes details are not used in any other ways and the results presented to the schools only contains details of their athletes. We do not publish details of athletes. We do not take photos of athletes at the races.
