Sussex Indoor Championships
We had 3 athletes competing over the weekend in the Sussex Indoor Championships – all 3 of them doing the 60 metres. And all 3 won a medal, and between them they earned all 3 of the available medals.
Winning a first place medal (let’s call it a gold medal) was Amelia Barton in the senior ladies race in 9.06 seconds. The second place silver medal went to Ollie Strange in the under 17 mens event in 7.87 seconds. And completing the trio with the third place bronze medal in the under 15 boys race was Lewis Jones in 8.32 seconds.
Very well done to them all.
Change in training sessions
Next week on Tuesday 22 February we re-start Tuesday evening outdoor training session at Imberhorne Upper School. Like our Thursday evening sessions we will start at 6.30 and finish at 7.30 and there will be a charge of £2. We expect to move Tuesday evenings to Sackville School when the light allows us to do so. This will be sometime in April.
The strength training group will meet at Imberhorne Lower School for their last session of the autumn/winter on Tuesday 15 February.
Fixtures for the summer
We now have details of the summer matches for our various age-groups (though venues are not yet known) and copies are available at training.
