Saturday 29th June saw the 2024 Academy Club Championships taking place. Since the first training session at the beginning of May, the Academy have been focused on the four events that make up the Sussex Quadkids Championships. As part of the process of the athletes development, which this season has included a full training session at K2 in Crawley in preparation, we hold our own Club Championship to help the athletes prepare for a competitive environment.
The athletes’ abilities and the standard of competition in the Club Championship continues to rise every year; this year was no different and we were treated to a very high standard of competition and sportsmanship from every athlete. With a vocal and supportive crowd on a warm and sunny day, there were great performances all round and huge improvements from all the athletes.
For the awards, we were delighted to welcome back Harriet Walter, winner of our girls competition last year, who presented this year’s medals. Harriet now represents the club in the U13s team and will be welcoming those from the Academy who will be moving into year 6 at school in September.
