Summer season getting nearer as days getting longer !

Thursday evening training re-started this week at Imberhorne Upper School on a rather chilly windy evening as we begin the build-up to the 2022 summer season – which will be here in no time at all. The Tuesday evening strength sessions at Imberhorne Lower School will get going this week.

We have a number of our younger school year 5 and 6 athletes working hard for the Mid Sussex primary school cross-country championships to be held on Wednesday January 19 at East Court. They had a session in the heavy rain last Saturday morning at East Court organised by Belinda Sims and Eddie Vermeer where they ran round the course. They will have another session this coming Saturday morning as their final preparation.

While these primary school races are the responsibility of the Mid Sussex schools we do have a significant role to play in getting the course ready on the morning of the races (and then taking the course down after the races). If you are free on that Wednesday morning and would like to help getting things ready then simply turn up at East Court at about 9.30 and Lester Medcalf will find you a job. We are also a bit low on marshalls for the races themselves (which start at 1.30 for the girls and 2.00 for the boys) and if you could help with that then come along at about 12.30 o’clock. If you can help either in the morning or at lunchtime/early afternoon please let Lester Medcalf know beforehand.
